Candidate provides indirect and direct patient care in the medical surgical setting. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Prepares and compiles records in the Medical Surgical Unit. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures and standards. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the floor and/or unit.
High School graduate or equivalent is preferred and successful completion of LPN program and BLS certification. Previous hospital experience preferred.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate they possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations. Position requires candidates to demonstrate they are a motivated individual who can multi-task with good time management and organization skills. Good computer skills with excellent attention to detail. Qualified candidates are proven team players; quality focused and delivers a high level of customer service. Qualified candidates must exemplify WNH "Standards of Performance" and be in alignment with goals and objectives of the organization.
